We expect pupils to make a contribution to their learning and their school community. By offering opportunities to lead and volunteer as Librarians, School Councillors, Play Leaders and Eco Team members, children are encouraged to work together with adults and support one another in ensuring that St Andrew’s is a school of which we are proud.
Our pupils are overwhelmingly positive about their school because we focus on developing good relationships between all members of our community. We have an extremely effective, nurturing approach to reinforcing positive behaviour and are well supported by parents in maintaining what is often referred to as a ‘happy school’.
As well as the highly focused teaching and application of basic skills in Reading, Writing and Mathematics, we offer engaging activities which take place in a stimulating, purposeful learning environment. Our approach to learning also places a strong emphasis on the need for children to develop skills beyond the classroom and the routine of school, embedded in real-life social learning experiences.
