Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

It has been a real joy to embrace the festive season and welcome parents and families into school. A huge thank you to everyone who supported our PTFA Christmas Fayre and joined us for the many wonderful celebrations, including the Reception and Year 2 Nativities, Nursery and Year 3 & 4 sing-alongs, Year 5’s Carol Concert, and Year 1’s spectacular Christingle service.

Our final week before Christmas has been full of colour, fun and cheer, from festive jumpers to a delicious Christmas lunch enjoyed by all. We were also lucky enough to have a special visit from Father Christmas, spreading excitement across the school. Reception enjoyed a magical trip to Little Owl Farm Park, while Year 5 got into the festive spirit with their wonderful North Pole Breakfast, all of which were truly memorable end to a fantastic term.

A special thank you to everyone who works tirelessly behind the scenes to make these moments possible. It has been a long autumn term, and our children have shown incredible resilience, joy and a true reflection of our school values.

We wish you all a restful, joyful and peaceful Christmas and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 6th January 2026.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree…..Thank You So Much!

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Barrie and Mel Knight for purchasing our school Christmas tree for the eighth year in a row. The children really enjoyed decorating it.

Year 5 Carol Concert

Year 5 treated us to a wonderful Carol Concert held in the school hall, which was transformed into a truly magical and very Christmassy space. The Year 5 team worked incredibly hard to create a warm, festive atmosphere, setting the perfect scene for a delightful evening of music and celebration.

The children sang beautifully and performed with confidence and enthusiasm, spreading Christmas cheer to everyone in attendance. It was a lovely opportunity for families and staff to come together and enjoy the festive spirit, and the pupils should be extremely proud of themselves.

A huge thank you to the Year 5 team for all their effort in making the hall look so special, and to everyone who joined us to support the children. It was a memorable celebration to mark the Christmas season. 🎶🎄

Achievement Assembly

This morning, we came together for a special Achievement Assembly to celebrate the many successes within our school community. We were proud to recognise our Values Champions, who have consistently demonstrated our school values through their attitudes, behaviour and kindness towards others. Their achievements are a wonderful example to us all.

We also celebrated our outside achievers, acknowledging children who have excelled beyond the classroom in areas such as sport, music and other pursuits. It is always inspiring to hear about the talents and dedication our pupils show both in and out of school.

The assembly also marked a heartfelt moment as we said goodbye to Janne, who is leaving St Andrew’s after an incredible 13 years of service. Janne has been a valued and much-loved member of our school family, and we thank her sincerely for her dedication, care and commitment over the years. She will be greatly missed, and we wish her every happiness for the future.

It was a warm and celebratory assembly, and a fitting way to recognise both achievement and contribution within our school.

Celebrating Success in Wednesday’s Assembly

Wednesday’s assembly was full of celebration as we recognised the fantastic achievements of our pupils across the school. A huge well done to all the children who reached 50, 100 and 200 Dojos; a brilliant reflection of their positive attitudes, hard work and commitment to our school values.

We were also delighted to announce the winners of our Colouring Competition, with some wonderfully creative and carefully finished entries on display. Well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to our deserving winners.

In addition, we celebrated our Attendance Winners; Maple, recognising those classes and pupils who have shown excellent commitment to being in school every day, ready to learn.

The assembly concluded with the awarding of the House Cup, which was met with great excitement and cheers. Congratulations to Rowan House for their teamwork and collective effort.

It was a joyful assembly, celebrating effort, creativity and achievement across our school community. Well done to everyone involved! 🎉

Year 3 saw Sleeping Beauty – Oh Yes They Did!

Year 3 had a fairy-tale of a time on their recent trip to the Swan Theatre in Worcester to watch Sleeping Beauty.

From the moment the curtain rose, there was everything a good pantomime should have: dazzling costumes, a villain who deserved very loud boos, jokes that made Year 3 giggle uncontrollably, and plenty of opportunities to shout “He’s behind you!” at top volume. Rest assured, the children rose to the challenge with enthusiasm and excellent comic timing.

There was gasping, laughing, clapping and even a few shocked faces when Sleeping Beauty finally woke up (spoiler alert!). The children were completely every magical, silly and sparkly moment.

The trip was a fantastic chance for Year 3 to experience live theatre and bring storytelling to life, and they returned to school full of smiles, stories and dramatic flair.

A huge thank you to the staff who accompanied the trip and helped make it such a memorable (and very noisy!) day out. 🎭✨
