Friday’s Achievement Assembly – Celebrating Success Together!

Today, our school hall was filled with smiles, applause and a wonderful sense of pride as we gathered for our weekly Achievement Assembly. It was a brilliant opportunity to recognise the hard work, talents and accomplishments of our pupils, both in and out of school.

We began by celebrating children’s outside achievements, and it was inspiring to hear about the wide range of activities our children take part in. Our pupils continue to impress us with their dedication and enthusiasm beyond the classroom. Their confidence in sharing their successes with the school community was fantastic to see.

Next, each class proudly cheered for their Class Award winners, recognising pupils who have shown resilience, kindness, creativity, excellent behaviour or outstanding effort in their learning. These moments are always a highlight, as they remind us how hard our pupils work every day and how much they support one another.

A special round of applause went to Paulina, who achieved the Platinum Times Table Award, which is an exceptional milestone that reflects commitment, determination and fantastic mathematical fluency. This is one of our highest honours, and we are incredibly proud of the hard work that led to this impressive achievement.

Reception Shine in Their Nativity: Born in a Barn

Our Reception children lit up the hall this week with their wonderful performance of Born in a Barn. From the moment the music began, they wowed us with their confident singing, big smiles and Crew Club's enthusiastic storytelling.

The children brought the Christmas story to life beautifully, with narrators speaking clearly, animals adding plenty of character and our stars, shepherds and wise men performing their roles with pride. It was heart-warming to see how hard they have all worked to remember their lines, actions and songs; their effort truly shone on stage.

A huge well done to every Reception child for such a joyful, energetic performance, and a big thank you to the staff who helped prepare them. It was a festive treat and the perfect way to begin our Christmas celebrations!

🎄 Christingle Celebration with Year 1 🎄

This week, our Year 1 children were joined by an amazing group of parents and carers for a special Christingle-making afternoon. The classrooms were filled with festive excitement as everyone gathered around tables covered with oranges, candles, ribbons and sweets, all the traditional elements that make Christingle such a meaningful celebration.

With plenty of laughter (and the occasional sneaky sweet being eaten!), families worked side-by-side to create beautiful Christingle oranges. For many of the children, it was their first time taking part in this long-standing tradition, and it was wonderful to see them proudly holding up their finished creations.

The Christingle orange symbolises the world, the red ribbon represents God’s love wrapped around it, the sweets remind us of the gifts of creation, and the candle shines as a symbol of Jesus, the light of the world. As the children crafted their Christingles, teachers and helpers chatted about these meanings, turning the activity into a lovely blend of learning and community spirit.

A huge thank you to every parent and carer who came along to lend a hand. Your time, enthusiasm and support made the afternoon truly special. Moments like these remind us how fortunate we are to have such a warm, engaged school community.

Nursery's Christmas Singalong!

On Friday afternoon, Nursery had their Christmas singalong. We invited family and friends to come and watch, it was such a wonderful turnout!

After we sang our songs, we enjoyed an afternoon of playing with our families. We made reindeer food, decorated biscuits, Christmas colouring and Christmas stockings!

Thank you everyone who was able to come and well done Nursery!
