Acheivement Assembly

Today’s assembly was a fantastic celebration of the many achievements across our school. Pupils from every class were recognised with awards for their hard work, positive attitudes and commitment to learning.

This week, some children proudly represented our school at TDMS, taking part in a range of sporting activities and working brilliantly as a team to earn valuable points. Their determination and teamwork paid off as they secured an impressive third-place finish overall. Staff were extremely proud of the perseverance, friendship and team spirit they demonstrated throughout the event. They also conducted themselves impeccably, showing politeness and respect to others at all times.

Certificates were also presented for accomplishments beyond the classroom for football. Every week, these achievements highlight the wide range of talents within our school community, and it was wonderful to see how pupils continue to demonstrate our school values in their activities outside of school.

What a Flippin' Great Time!

Despite the wet weather keeping us indoors, our House Pancake Relay Races were still a fantastic success! With the field out of action, the hall was transformed into a lively race arena filled with cheers, laughter and plenty of competitive spirit.

Children from Maple, Oak, Ash and Rowan competed enthusiastically, racing up and down the hall while carefully balancing their pancakes. It was wonderful to see such determination, teamwork and encouragement from all the houses as they battled it out for those all-important house points.

There were some impressive flipping skills on display, along with great resilience when the occasional pancake took a tumble! The atmosphere was electric, with supporters cheering on their teams and celebrating every successful handover.

A huge well done to all the children for their fantastic participation and sportsmanship. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate, their energy and enthusiasm certainly brightened up the day!

Attendance Matters

At St Andrew's, we know that attendance truly matters. Every school day is filled with exciting learning opportunities, and even missing just a few days can mean children miss important teaching, friendships and experiences that cannot be repeated.

Regular attendance helps children to build confidence, develop strong routines and make steady academic progress. It also supports their wellbeing, as being in school allows them to stay connected with friends and feel part of our school community.

We understand that children are sometimes unwell and cannot attend, but we encourage families to make every effort to ensure their child is in school, on time, every day wherever possible. Arriving promptly also helps children settle quickly and start the day positively.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us make attendance a priority. Together, we can give every child the very best opportunity to succeed.

We are excited to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 5th March! This year, our theme is “Dress as an Adjective.”

Examples of Book‑inspired adjectives

Here are some adjectives linked to well‑known books or characters to help spark ideas:

  • Brave – inspired by characters like Hermione Granger, Matilda, or Bilbo Baggins
  • Curious – like Alice from Alice in Wonderland
  • Wild – inspired by Where the Wild Things Are
  • Magical – linked to Harry Potter, Narnia, or The Worst Witch
  • Colourful – like the world of Elmer
  • Sleepy – inspired by The Sleepy Little Alphabet or bedtime stories Wear: pyjamas
Add: slippers, a teddy, messy hair
  • Sparkly – like many fairy‑tale character
  • Bright- Wear: neon clothes / colourful outfit Add: sunglasses, glow sticks
Book link: “The Day the Crayons Quit” vibe
  • Smart - Wear: school uniform or neat outfit Add: glasses, a book to carry

Children are welcome to bring a small label or sign showing their chosen adjective if they’d like.

World Book Day Book Swap

To encourage a love of reading, we will also be holding a Book Swap on the same day.

  • Children can bring books from home that they’ve already enjoyed.
  • Books should be in good condition and appropriate for their age group.
  • They will hand their books in first thing in the morning.
  • At the end of the school day, children will be able to choose a different book to take home.

It’s a lovely way for children to share stories and discover new favourites.

Thank you for your support. We’re looking forward to seeing the children’s imaginative adjective costumes and enjoying a fantastic World Book Day together!

Values Champions

Today, we were delighted to celebrate last half-term's Values Champions with a very special Tea Party, recognising those children and staff who consistently demonstrated our focus value of Respect.

Pupils and staff were nominated for showing kindness, consideration and excellent manners towards others, as well as taking pride in their school environment. Throughout the half-term, they have modelled what respect truly looks like in our school community.

The Tea Party was a lovely opportunity to celebrate their achievements. Everyone enjoyed drinks, cake and biscuits, while relaxing together and listening to music. It was a wonderful atmosphere filled with smiles, conversation and well-deserved pride.

We are incredibly proud of all our Values Champions for setting such a positive example. We look forward to celebrating our next group of champions this half- term!

🌍 World Thinking Day – Celebrating Together 🌍

This week we celebrated World Thinking Day, a special occasion marked each year by members of Guiding and Scouting organisations around the world, including the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and the World Organisation of the Scout Movement.

World Thinking Day officially takes place on Sunday 22nd February and is a time for young people to think about others, celebrate international friendship and reflect on the shared values that unite Guiding and Scouting communities worldwide.

To recognise this important event, on Monday, pupils who are members of any Guiding or Scouting groups came into school proudly wearing their club uniforms. It has been wonderful to see so many children representing their groups and celebrating their involvement in organisations that promote teamwork, service, leadership and global citizenship.

By wearing their uniforms, our pupils are showing their commitment to the positive values at the heart of Guiding and Scouting and reminding us all of the importance of friendship, respect and helping others, not just in our school community, but across the world.

St Andrew’s Pupils Support Hampton Litter Pick

A huge thank you to the 5 St Andrew's pupils, Oscar, Annabelle, Eddison, Arlie and Ezra, parents and Mrs Carey for helping with the Hampton litter pick organised by Anti-Litter Evesham. Together with other local volunteers, they collected 23 bags of litter and larger junk items from all around Hampton. The most unusual item found were a couple of woks!

Anti-Litter Evesham are looking for volunteers to help with the Big Evesham Town Spring Clean on Sunday 22nd March. More details can be found on their Facebook page.

Young Voices

We were absolutely delighted that our visit to the Young Voices concert in Birmingham was able to go ahead as scheduled. The excitement had been building for weeks, and the event certainly did not disappoint!

Our children joined thousands of other young singers from across the country to perform as part of one incredible choir. From the moment they stepped into the arena, there was a real buzz in the air. The atmosphere was electric, and the children sang their hearts out, showcasing not only their musical talents but also their enthusiasm and confidence.

Parents and carers who attended said what a truly special experience it was. Seeing the children contribute at such a large-scale production, complete with professional musicians, lighting and special guests, made for a memorable evening for everyone involved.

The behaviour of our pupils was exemplary throughout the trip. They represented the school beautifully and supported one another with encouragement and smiles. It was wonderful to see their hard work and dedication pay off in such a spectacular performance.

A huge thank you to the staff who organised and accompanied the visit, and to the families for their continued support. It was a fantastic event and one that will no doubt remain a highlight of the school year for many of our children.

Nursery found an egg, or two........

Our topic this term is called 'I Found An Egg', and this week we have been focusing on dinosaurs. The children have enjoyed lots of exciting dinosaur learning opportunities both in the classroom and outdoors. We have been creating dinosaur small worlds, making shape dinosaurs, and exploring dinosaur shadows.

There has also been a mysterious egg in our curiosity box which is beginning to hatch – the children have been full of ideas about what could be inside! Outdoors, we followed footprints in the forest to find hidden dinosaurs, which sparked lots of imagination and discussion. We also shared many dinosaur stories throughout the week, which the children loved.

It has been a fun and engaging week of 🦖 🦕

This Week in Apples

In Apples, our book of the week has been 'What Will Hatch?' The children have been exploring all the different things that can come from an egg. They used their thinking skills to investigate our Curious Box, where they discovered a variety of eggs – one whole egg, one cracked into a bowl and one that had been boiled.

The children each had a turn mashing boiled eggs to make egg sandwiches. They carefully used their fine motor skills to spread butter and the egg filling onto their bread, before enjoying tasting them as an afternoon snack.

We have also enjoyed a range of egg-themed activities both indoors and outdoors. At the EAD table, the children rolled eggs in paint to create patterns and marks, and decorated eggs using pasta and other materials. Our role-play area included animals that lay eggs; encouraging imaginative play. Outside, the children rolled eggs down guttering pipes and explored mashing boiled eggs in a tray, making the most of our hands-on learning experiences.
