Year 4’s Inspiring Easter Service

Year 4 led a truly moving and memorable Easter service, beautifully retelling the story of Jesus’ resurrection. Through their thoughtful narration, confident speaking and expressive acting, the children brought this important part of the Christian faith to life for all who attended.

This retelling strongly linked to our school value of forgiveness. The children highlighted how Jesus showed forgiveness even in the most difficult of circumstances, reminding us all of the importance of kindness, compassion and letting go of mistakes. Their message encouraged us to think about how we can show forgiveness in our own lives, both in school and beyond.

We are incredibly proud of Year 4 for the way they conducted themselves and for delivering such a heartfelt and meaningful service. They were wonderful role models and represented the school with great pride.

Celebrating Success in Assembly

Yesterday’s assembly was a wonderful celebration of achievement across the school. Pupils from every class were recognised with awards, highlighting their hard work, positive attitudes and commitment to learning.

We were especially proud to celebrate our Platinum Times Table champions, who have shown outstanding determination and resilience in mastering their times tables. Their dedication is truly commendable. Congratulations also to Sophie and Theo for successfully passing their swimming stages, which is an excellent achievement!

In addition, class certificates and Values Champion awards were presented, recognising those who consistently demonstrate our school values in all they do. We were also delighted to award the staff values award to Mrs Taylor, in recognition of her continued commitment to living out our school values.

A special moment in the assembly saw the Maple House captains receive the Easter Egg Hunt trophy from last year’s winners, Oak House.

Our weekly assemblies continue to shine a light on the many talents and successes within our school community. It is always a pleasure to celebrate how our pupils embrace opportunities and live out our values each day.

Easter Egg Hunt

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt took place this week, bringing plenty of excitement across the school. The children worked together in their house teams to see which group could collect all of the eggs on the field in the quickest time. Pupils came to school dressed in their PE kits with pupils proudly wearing their house-coloured shirts, ready to take part in this fun and energetic event.

Respect in Action: Oscar Makes a Difference

Oscar was amazed by the amount of litter he discovered hidden in the trees opposite his home. Showing great initiative and care for his environment, he collected an impressive one and a half bin bags of rubbish, including a nappy, a birthday banner, polystyrene packaging, plastic bags, cans, glass bottles and sweet wrappers.

This is a wonderful example of our school value of respect in action, and Oscar is a fantastic role model for others.

This week in Apples......

This week in Apples, our focus story was We’re Going on an Egg Hunt. We have been learning all about chicks and have taken part in a range of exciting activities.

Indoors, the children enjoyed printing chicks and eggs using a variety of coloured paints. In our curiosity cube, we observed an egg each day, eagerly watching to see what would hatch - much to our delight, it was a baby chick!

At snack time, we tried scrambled egg on toast, which the children thought was delicious. Outside, we explored a yellow-themed tray and an Easter bunny tray, where the children had fun creating and building their own games.

Well done, Apples! 🍎🍏

Year 1's Victorian Visit

Year 1's recent trip to the Almonry included learning more about school life in Victorian times, exploring Victorian artefacts and visiting the cloister gardens to see some of the things that Victorians had discovered or renovated. The children learnt more about equipment and punishments in Victorian times and have expressed how they are glad that they go to school now and not in the past.
