Celebrating Success and Outstanding Achievement

Today’s assembly was a fantastic celebration, showcasing the many achievements of pupils from across the school. Children in every class were recognised with awards for their effort, enthusiasm and commitment to learning.

We would also like to give a special mention to Nicole, who has achieved her Platinum Times Table Award, which is an outstanding accomplishment.

Our weekly assemblies continue to highlight the wide range of talents within our school community. It is always a pleasure to hear how pupils live out our school values, not only in their learning but also through the wider opportunities they embrace beyond the classroom in sports such as karate, swimming and cycling.

This Week in Pears

This week in Pears, the children have been exploring the theme of growth. They have enjoyed planting seeds, investigating different sizes during forest school, and creating a variety of flowers through their activities.

On Saturday 9th May, Mrs Millar, Mrs Carey, Mrs Goodall and Mrs Wood are taking on the Ride the Night 2026 London challenge. Organised by Women vs Cancer, this 100km night-time bike ride is raising money for Breast Cancer Now and Ovarian Cancer Action. Starting at Windsor Racecourse, the route heads into central London through Richmond Park and along the Thames before passing Parliament Square and Westminster, then onto Tower Bridge past the London Eye and the Royal Albert Hall, before heading back to Windsor. As relatively novice cyclists, we are all anxious yet extremely excited about the event! Growing, Measuring and Exploring in Apples 🍎

This week in Apples we have focused on how the children are growing. We have done lots of fun activities and have been reading 'Ten Seeds' to help develop our counting skills. The children enjoyed exploring and printing with paint using their hands and feet. We have used tape measures and a height chart to have a look at how tall the children are. We even measured Apple's staff to see who was the tallest!

Outside, we have been stacking blocks to see how tall the children are and have been using different tools in the sand to plant some beans.

Last week, the children in Year 1 visited St Andrew's Church for an assembly. They joined in well with the prayers, listened to stories from the Bible and really enjoyed singing different hymns. The children also looked at the Easter garden in the church and talked about the events of Easter Sunday. Well done Year 1, you were very respectful during your visit.

All pupils will have their photo taken with their class, so please ensure children come to school in full, smart uniform and looking their best.

These special photos are a lovely way to capture memories of the year and will be available for families to purchase after the event.
