Achievement Assembly

Today's Achievement Assembly was packed with smiles, celebrations and plenty of reasons to be proud! Children from across the school were recognised with class awards for their hard work, positive attitudes and commitment to learning. It was wonderful to see so many pupils being celebrated for their efforts and achievements.

The celebrations didn’t stop there! We also enjoyed hearing about the fantastic accomplishments our children have achieved outside of school. Pupils proudly shared certificates and awards, from a wide range of activities, including swimming, karate, football and gymnastics. It is always inspiring to see the many talents, skills and interests our children develop beyond the classroom, and we loved celebrating their successes together.

Forest School Fun!

4LL had an amazing time at Forest School this week! To launch our new topic, World Kitchen, we enjoyed delicious pizzas cooked over the fire. The children also made the most of their free-choice activities, including climbing ladders, hunting for bugs, building dens, and swinging through the trees like Tarzan. It was a fantastic session full of fun, adventure, and outdoor learning!

This Week in Apples

This term’s topic in Apples is ‘I Am on the Move’, where the children explored different ways of travelling. This week, the focus was on trains – choo, choo!

During Forest School, the children worked together to create a train track using natural resources. In the classroom, the role-play area was transformed into a busy train station, where the children enjoyed taking on different roles, including train drivers, passengers and ticket sellers.

The children also showed their creativity through a range of train-themed art activities. They experimented with painting using trains and created their own train pictures using sponge printing techniques.

Well done, Apples, for your enthusiasm, imagination and hard work this week!

Year 5 Athletics Competition at Bowbrook School

A group of our Year 5 pupils recently had the exciting opportunity to attend Bowbrook School to take part in an athletics competition alongside several other local schools. It was a fantastic day filled with energy, teamwork and determination.

The children participated in a wide range of events, including long jump, high jump, javelin, and a variety of track races such as sprints, the 600m race and the ever-popular 4 x 100m relay. Many of the pupils showed real courage by taking part in events they had not competed in before, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm.

We were incredibly proud of how all the children conducted themselves throughout the day. They demonstrated excellent perseverance, pushing themselves to do their very best, as well as outstanding sportsmanship by supporting one another and cheering on competitors from all schools. Their determination and positive attitudes were evident in every event.

Well done to everyone who took part, represented the school brilliantly and made it a memorable and successful day!
