Today's Achievement Assembly, led by Mr Spencer, was filled with smiles, celebrations and lots of reasons to be proud! Children from across the school were recognised with class awards for their hard work, positive attitudes and dedication to their learning. It was wonderful to see so many pupils being celebrated for their efforts and achievements.

The celebrations continued as we also heard about the fantastic successes our children have achieved outside of school. Pupils proudly shared certificates, medals and awards from a variety of activities, including swimming, gymnastics and other clubs and competitions. It is always inspiring to see the talents, skills and interests our children develop beyond the classroom, and we were delighted to celebrate their achievements together.

On Thursday, Year 4 welcomed award-winning professional chef, Steve Love (Chef Steve), who spent the day cooking with the children. Earlier in the week, the pupils had researched and designed their own pizzas, and today they brought their ideas to life by rolling out dough, spreading tomato sauce, grating cheese, and carefully chopping their chosen toppings. Once the pizzas had been baked and allowed to cool, everyone enjoyed tasting their delicious creations. Yum! 🍕

On Tuesday, our Nursery children enjoyed a fantastic visit to Cotswold Farm Park. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, with sunshine throughout the day, which meant we were able to see all of the animals out in the fields.

During our trip, the children experienced a wide variety of animals, including sheep, goats, cows, pigs, horses, chickens, geese, ducks, lambs and donkeys. They particularly enjoyed feeding the friendly – and sometimes very greedy – goats! Inside the barn, the children were excited to hold fluffy chicks and gently stroke soft rabbits, which was a real highlight for everyone.

We also visited the cattle shed, where we were able to see even more animals up close and learn about farm life. The children loved being so hands-on and showed great curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the day.

To finish off our wonderful experience, everyone had lots of fun bouncing on the giant jumping pillows and exploring the playground – a perfect end to an action-packed trip.

We were extremely proud of how well all of the children behaved throughout the day. Their enthusiasm, excellent manners and curiosity made the visit a real success and created lots of happy memories for everyone involved.

Last week, our Book of the Week was We're Going on a Bear Hunt. The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a sensory walk, where they explored the different settings from the story by feeling long, swishy grass, rough forest bark, cold water, thick, squelchy mud and soft snow from the snowstorm.

To extend their learning, the children brought their favourite teddies from home to join in with our bear hunt during this week’s Forest School session. Working together with their friends, they searched high and low through the forest to find the hidden bears amongst the trees. It was a fantastic adventure that encouraged teamwork, exploration and plenty of excitement!

During Year 3's forest school session, the children explored their topic of China by using natural materials such as sticks, leaves, bark, and stones to create dragons and pagodas. They showed great creativity and imagination, carefully selecting and arranging materials to represent features. The activity encouraged problem-solving, teamwork, and communication as children worked together and shared ideas.

Value Champions Tea Party - Generosity

Last week, we were delighted to celebrate our Values Champions with a special Tea Party. This was a wonderful opportunity to recognise those pupils and staff who consistently demonstrate generosity in their daily actions, whether that’s sharing with others, giving their time to help a friend, offering words of encouragement, or showing kindness without expecting anything in return.

The children enjoyed a well-deserved treat of hot chocolate, biscuits, and cake, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere where they could celebrate together. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces and to hear the children chatting proudly about the many ways they show generosity both in school and beyond.

We are incredibly proud of our Values Champions. Their willingness to think of others and give so freely helps to create a caring, supportive, and inclusive school community where everyone feels valued. This tea party was a small token of our appreciation for the big difference they make every day through their generous actions and positive example.
