Achievement Assembly

Today’s Achievement Assembly provided a wonderful opportunity to recognise the dedication and commitment shown by our pupils throughout the week. Children across the school have demonstrated commendable focus, kindness and a consistently positive attitude towards their learning. It was a pleasure to present class awards to pupils from every year group in acknowledgement of their hard work and determination.

Congratulations to Rowan who won this term's House Point competition, whose collective effort, positive behaviour and commitment to our school values earned them this well-deserved recognition. We were equally delighted to present the Healthiest Class Award, celebrating both Reception classes that have consistently demonstrated excellent healthy habits and a commitment to wellbeing.

We were also delighted to celebrate a range of achievements beyond the classroom. Pupils proudly shared certificates and awards representing accomplishments in sports, hobbies and personal pursuits.

This week’s assembly served as a reminder of the many talents within our school community and the admirable way our pupils continue to thrive. Well done to all of our award recipients and to every pupil for their hard work, perseverance and positive attitude throughout the week.

4ET Forest Adventure

This week, 4ET had a fantastic time exploring the forest and discovering the wonders of nature. The children enjoyed spending time outdoors, looking closely at plants, trees, insects, and other wildlife. We talked about the different things that live in the forest and why it is important to take care of our natural environment.

One of the highlights of the week was playing on the rope swing. The children had lots of fun taking turns, encouraging one another, and challenging themselves. There were many smiles and laughs as everyone enjoyed this exciting forest activity.

As well as having fun, 4ET learned how to stay safe in the forest. We discussed the importance of listening carefully to adults, being aware of our surroundings, walking carefully on uneven ground, and respecting nature. The children practised working together and making safe choices while exploring.

It has been wonderful to see 4ET developing their confidence, teamwork, and curiosity through outdoor learning. We are very proud of how responsibly they behaved and how enthusiastically they embraced their forest adventure 🌳🌿🍃

Worcestershire Primary STEM Challenge Final

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of Leo and Dorian from Year 5, who recently represented St Andrew’s at the Worcestershire Primary STEM Challenge Final, held at Mazak in Worcester.

Competing against schools from across the county, the boys demonstrated outstanding teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills as they designed and built an exciting new ride for West Midlands Safari Park. Their innovative ideas, resilience and collaborative approach impressed everyone throughout the challenge.

Leo and Dorian were fantastic ambassadors for St Andrew’s, embodying our school values while showcasing the curiosity and determination that are at the heart of STEM. Experiences such as these highlight how an interest in STEM can begin at primary school and inspire the engineers, designers and innovators of the future.

Well done, Leo and Dorian - you should be extremely proud of your achievement. We certainly are!

🚌 Wheels on the Bus Fun in Apples! 🚌

This week in Apples, we have been enjoying reading The Wheels on the Bus.

The children had great fun helping to paint red boxes, which will be used as buses for our transport display board. At the maths table, they practised their counting and sorting skills by working out how many people were on the bus.

Outside, the children explored transport vehicles in paint, rolling them along a large paper-covered table to create colourful tracks and patterns. Oliver, Lowri, and Rowan came up with a fantastic idea to use tubes as tunnels and ramps for the cars. Oliver was delighted when his car successfully travelled through the tube and proudly exclaimed, "Yay! I did it!"

It has been a busy, creative, and enjoyable week in Apples, and we have loved seeing the children's enthusiasm and imaginative ideas. 🚍✨
