🌈 Shining Bright at St Andrew’s

This week’s Celebration Assembly gave us the chance to recognise and applaud the fantastic achievements taking place across St Andrew’s. From demonstrating determination in lessons to showing kindness, responsibility and a positive attitude around school, our pupils have truly impressed us with their commitment and enthusiasm.

It was wonderful to see children from every year group receive awards in recognition of their efforts, progress and contributions. Their achievements reflect not only their hard work but also the values that make our school community so special.

The assembly was filled with pride as we celebrated the many successes, talents and personal accomplishments of our pupils. Whether through academic progress, acts of kindness or perseverance in overcoming challenges, our children continue to inspire us every day.

Congratulations to all of this week’s award recipients, and well done to every pupil for the energy, positivity and dedication they bring to school life. Together, you make St Andrew’s a place where everyone can thrive, succeed and shine.

Keep reaching for the stars, St Andrew’s! 🌟

Apples Class Update 🍏

This week in Apples, we have been exploring different emotions through colours and visual images. The children were introduced to four key emotions: happy, sad, angry and surprised. Our focus story was When I'm Surprised, which helped the children understand different situations that can make us feel surprised and encouraged lots of discussion about emotions.

We linked each emotion to a colour: red for angry, blue for sad, green for happy and yellow for surprised. The children particularly enjoyed using a variety of open-ended resources to create and represent different emotions in their own imaginative ways.

Well done, Apples, for your fantastic engagement and creativity this week! 🍏👏

Learning About Harvest

Year 3 enjoyed a visit to Hampton Farm Shop, where they learned about where our food comes from and the important role farmers play in growing and producing it. They also welcomed representatives from Hampton Church, who spoke to the children about the meaning and importance of Harvest Festival and how it is a time to give thanks for the food we have and to support those in need.

The visit and talks helped the children deepen their understanding of harvest, gratitude and community, bringing their learning to life through real-world experiences and meaningful discussions.

Year 3's Forest Adventure

This week, the Year 3 children took part in an exciting Forest School session, working collaboratively to design and build a car using a range of natural materials gathered from the forest. Using sticks, leaves, bark and other resources, they showcased impressive creativity and imagination in bringing their ideas to life.

Throughout the activity, the children demonstrated excellent teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. They shared ideas thoughtfully, listened carefully to one another and worked together effectively to overcome challenges, resulting in some fantastic creations.
