Year 5 Residential to Cardiff - 30th September β 2nd October
Our Year 5 pupils had an unforgettable three-day residential visit to Cardiff, filled with exciting activities, new experiences and lasting memories. From the moment we arrived, the children showed fantastic enthusiasm, independence and teamwork, making us all incredibly proud.
One of the highlights of the trip was our visit to Cardiff Castle, where children explored the fascinating history of the site, climbed to the top of the Norman Fort and ventured into the underground World War II bunkers. We also visited the National Museum Cardiff, where pupils enjoyed discovering a range of historical artefacts and exhibitions.
The children loved travelling around the city, including catching the water taxi into Cardiff Bay and taking a walk along the Cardiff Bay Barrage, followed by some time in the park and a well-earned ice cream. Another favourite visit was Techniquest, where pupils explored the interactive science exhibits and enjoyed hands-on learning through a range of exciting investigations and challenges.
Back at the accommodation, the fun continued with a lively game of bingo, before everyone changed into their pyjamas for the much-anticipated PJ disco with DJ Handley, which had everyone up and dancing! We also enjoyed a trip to the bowling alley, where the children demonstrated great sportsmanship during an afternoon of ten-pin bowling.
The residential provided countless opportunities for pupils to build confidence, develop friendships and demonstrate resilience away from home. The children were a credit to the school throughout the visit, displaying excellent behaviour and embracing every challenge with positivity and excitement. We are sure that the memories made in Cardiff will stay with them for many years to come.
