Our book of the week was ‘That’s Not My Bus’, which the children really enjoyed exploring.

Indoors, we used 2D shapes in the maths area to create our own buses, helping to develop shape recognition and creativity. In our role-play area, we transformed the space into a bus, complete with tickets for the children to use in imaginative play. We also added a variety of wheeled vehicles to our provision to help children learn about different types of transport.

Outside, we had great fun attaching pens to cars and driving them across paper to make marks, encouraging early writing skills in a fun and active way. We also got busy with drills and hammers, fixing and building vehicles, which supported fine motor skills and imaginative construction play.
