This week in Apples, we've been learning all about buses!
This week, the children in Pears have been exploring the concept of time. They've had lots of fun engaging in hands-on activities, including building trains outdoors, investigating clocks, noticing differences on clock faces, threading the tails of mice, and even timing each other as they filled cups with pom poms. It's been a playful and exciting way to learn about how time works!

This week, Year 5 paid a visit to the church and represented St Andrew’s with great respect and maturity. They sang hymns beautifully, shared prayers, and took time to reflect thoughtfully. The children also had a meaningful conversation with Elaine about the vital role of our future Community Leaders, who will help strengthen the connection between school and church. It was a memorable visit that celebrated both the children’s contributions and our deepening community partnership.

This afternoon, our Year 5 children were incredibly brave and put themselves forward to represent their houses as house captains.
We were delighted to welcome some of the trustees at John Martin's Charity for a visit to our school today.
Year 5MS had a fantastic time at Forest School last week! Using great teamwork skills, they worked together to stay connected as they searched the forest for hidden Maya temples. The children mapped out their routes carefully and supported each other every step of the way. A huge thank you to Mr Walton for leading such an exciting and memorable session!
Earlier today, we were pleased to welcome our local MP, Nigel Huddleston, to St Andrew’s. He visited to tour the school, explain his role, and take part in a Q&A session with Year 5. During the session, we asked him lots of questions about his responsibilities and what it's like to be a leader. He shared that he meets with the Prime Minister every Wednesday at 12pm for Prime Minister’s Questions, where they discuss what’s going well and what needs improvement in our local area. Speaking with him was really valuable, especially as we begin preparing for our own school leadership elections.
At our amazing school, Fridays are about more than just the end of the week. They are a time for us to come together and celebrate the incredible achievements of our students.
Each week, our Achievement Assembly highlights the hard work, creativity, and progress taking place both inside and outside the classroom. From sporting triumphs and academic milestones to musical talent and personal growth, we proudly recognise and applaud every success.
A huge well done to all those who received a certificate today.
